Meridian Days

Produced by Field Office

Official Selection Sundance Film Festival 2004.

Travelogue that stems from audio and visual material collected on a three-week ship cruise taken with my then 86-year-old grandmother. Through the combined use of text, voiceover and visual metaphor the film explores themes of aging, alienation, and independence and attempts to suggest what life was once like and how it is today. Meridian Days is a navigational term that refers to the phenomenon of temporally losing or gaining a day when you cross the International Dateline.
